It's perfectly possible for someone who's never even heard of Apterous to play Countdown every day of the week, if they want serious practice. Twice, if they watch the repeat. They'll get hoplites, tangelo, and even gentoo (if they're old enough) with all the apteroids.

To be fair to Mrs. Thatcher, the unions needed breaking. The shambles of the 1970's wasn't a very successful advert for government by union. I think you can add the public service union (NUPE?) to the list of powerful ones, too.

There's 2-3 seconds between the clock stopping and having to make a declaration, which should be plenty of time to legibly record a word you thought of within the time. Not everyone watches it live. In general, spoilers for Wednesday's game go on the "Spoilers for Wednesday's game" thread. The point of "spoilers for Tuesday" is that you can read it knowing that the spoilers on it are for Tuesday. Not Wednesday.

I've selected "don't fit etc.", but to avoid marring the completeness of your highly scientific (?) poll, 1.5 sugars and Northern. East Lancashire, actually. Not many of our road signs have latitude or longtitude, all we need to know is which way is Yorkshire. So we can avoid it, obviously.
