Re: Spoilers for Thursday 24th January (Davids 1st game)
Footnote 2: I agree with you David, re your comments about Dave Reed (see forum for Wednesday's game), that it's better not to be first up on a recording day, and to have a game or two before your own which you can use as warm-up, getting used to the studio conditions, easing nerves etc. The recent...

Re: Letter distribution
I am quite interested in knowing what the original letter frequencies were to be honest. If you take the letter rounds from the Series 5 Final for example (http://www.thecountdownpage.com/final5.htm) you get the following: A: 4, B: 2, C: 2, D: 2, E: 8, F: 2, G: 4, H: 3, I: 8, J: 2, K: 0, L: 5, M: 1,...

As soon as I saw that list I immediately thought of something. There was a topic I started one day where an 'M' had been turned upside down and was used as a 'W' because I asked, if that was an 'M' would've it have made a longer word. Well remembered. It was definitely an upside-down M, because the...

I think you can also have PARODIST and PAROTIDS for the PASTORIED selection?. Another selection you can have is MOISTENER, so that gives us: ADEHINOST - 4 x 8's ADEIOPRST - 14 x 8's AEGINORST - 14 x 8's AEILMORST - 5 x 8's AEIMNORST - 13 x 8's EEIMNORST - 6 x 8's EDIT: Just had a game on the deluxe ...

Re: Alison/Susie?
Susie is the best in so many ways. I love how gently she tells contestants that their words are misspelt/capitalised/not in the selection (or all three) and how she is still excited to declare a 9. Also forgot to add Susie started to do a segment of word origins, which I found quite interesting too.

Looks Like A 9, But Can Only Get An 8
Friday's game (18/01/08) offered the following selection for Round 7: R E M A T O N I S Now looking at these letters, you would expect there to be a possible 9-letter word, but the best you can do is only 8 letters. Going by the selection, there are a total of 13, 8-letter words you can have (answer...
