Jeff at Old Trafford tonight

Jeff is presenting tonight's Manchester United vs Derby County game. No surprise perhaps 'The Final Countdown' is being played over the speakers. I expect this will become the common thing when Jeff does weekend Sky football shows live from grounds.

Des O'Connor - Tesco Christmas Advert

Des sings a Christmas song and has to dodge the various on-screen offers and info banners that appear on screen, concealing him from view.
I think Eric Morecambe would have been proud. He took the whatsit out of Des for many years !

Re: New Host

The Mirror now say AA has pulled out. Seems to be based on his embarrassment on his ribbing on 'HIGNFY' last week. Well if he is embarrassed to be host of a television institution, he doesn't deserve the job. Now,this may be paper talk, so who knows. http://www.mirror.co.uk/celebs/latest/2008/10/29/...

I see your meaning on the issues of what is good taste. My main point was AA's performance. I know they often keep the errors is the final edit, but it just made him look a bit clumsy presenting a show. Although of course we do get such Countdown moments. I did quite enjoy him in his comedy series w...

Re: Have I Got News For You

Frankly on that performance from Alexander Armstrong on HIGNFY on Friday, I would definately not like him to get the job. He was pretty awful, making many mistakes. The references to Richard were in poor taste, and he denies he has taken the job yet if at all.

I would prefer Jeff Stelling to Alexander Armstrong. JS brightens up Saturday afternoons. Winconsin screams a need to create retro. 'Happy Days' (Milwaukee) was made in the 70s yet was set in the 50s. 'That 70s Show' (a fictional Point Place) was made in the 90s, but set in the 70s (really?!). I guess given a few years they will make a series based in 90s Wisconsin to carry on the tradit...
