The only difference the contestants make to the number of shows is that each Octochamp means one more player. i'm just trying to throw around in my head the idea that it's the when of someone becoming an Octochamp that could affect things? ...The last show of any series always has to end with a win...

I would think that as long as the show remains popular with students, that's the way it will keep going.
