Re: Cheating: What it is, and why you shouldn't do it
I've often wondered about the spoilage words and whether people do that. But I think the game is to get your declaration typed in before the time runs out, even if you've declared the same pseudopseudohypoparathyroidism four times already!

Re: Cheating: What it is, and why you shouldn't do it
Strikes me that an easyish way to make cheating more difficult might be to prevent copy from the letters, and paste in to the answer box. I can't think of a single instance where you'd legitimately need to do this.

Re: CO:parkrun Recaps
This year I've generally been giving the points as integers, but keeping the decimal places "in the background", but I've added the first decimal place above just so it's easier to keep track of for the next event. But I think for next year, I'm going to do away with decimals altogether. ...

If you're implying it's unnecessary, I suspect that more harassment goes on at and around events than you or I are aware of. I think having a tickbox code of conduct is a good idea - mainly to protect the organisers. However "around" events is a tricky one. The organisers organise the eve...

The point is that it is fundamentally wrong to amputate part of someone else's body for your own reasons when they are not old enough to make the decision for themselves. The fundamental difference between FGM and MGM is that circumcision is a medical procedure that can be performed if it alleviates a medical condition. FGM is just barbaric. That only applies in the cases where there is a medical condition, which doesn't apply to the cases that I (and others) am (ar...

They're really not. I agree with you that male circumcision is unnecessary and can cause problems and I would happily see it banned, but the terrible lifelong and frequently life threatening complications caused by FGM are in a different league.
