Re: Countdown Rematch on Echo 106.8 - and a call for help
I did wonder if Jon was nearby, yes! The station is indeed based at FCOT - I shall drop Jon a message in the next few days. We could have a natter about Jeff and Rachel as well, as neither Ariane nor I have any first hand experience of the new team (or so I gather).

Countdown Rematch on Echo 106.8 - and a call for help
At present, I am hosting a student radio show on Echo 106.8 FM in the Farnborough/Aldershot area of Hampshire, and it's also available online if you're further afield. It's called The Echo Midweek Sandwich and it's on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1pm to 4pm, give or take at the start if there is an a...

Re: Feedback on the new Countdown
"The TV Show", the programme that ties into the blog linked to in this thread, is about to start on Channel 4 if anyone is interested. Personally, I miss a little of the interactivity between viewers and host that there used to be - the jokes, the anecdotes. That said, the new format is ce...

I'm sad to say mine (well, Ariane's of course!) is under the bed. Only for safe-keeping, mind. Once I have somewhere safe to display it I will do so, proudly, and without claiming it's mine!

Teapots
Right, the question I intended to ask about half an hour ago, before becoming utterly engrossed in "dress code"(!): I recall reading somewhere that, along with the new set for the latest series of Countdown, the champions' teapots were also to receive a revamp. Was there any truth in this,...

I'm not sure that it's entirely safe striding into this thread, but nonetheless...! For men, it's quite simple; for younger men just a casual or plain short sleeved shirt with no tie is fine Were I to have the chance to appear on the show again, I'd be very tempted to wear a long-sleeved shirt and n...

...and no, it's not CUNTFLAPS. (Sorry Kai.) It's this . Circa 1999, Richard and Carol found themselves heavily delayed in reaching Leeds and boredom threatened to ravish the studio audience. Cue Greg Scott in the presenter's chair, Diane Barr the production secretary putting up letters and writing d...

Re: Unluckiest pool shot ever?
On the other side of the coin, I've seen in professional snooker matches on TV the one where the red (or colour) bounces off the table, rolls along the cushion by which I mean on top of it, and into the pocket. This clip shows perhaps the most famous such incident, with Alan McManus fluking the bro...

If any of the production team still pop in here, then thank you for your excellent work. You've revitalised the show in just the right way whilst resisting the probable temptation to fiddle with any of the stuff that already worked. An excellent job, and Jeff is particularly great!

That was at an event called the 'Ansty Music Festival', which is a very overstated title for 30 A-level students crammed into a mate's garage.

May I suggest spoiler tags, as you get in a few puzzle/gaming forums, in order to banish the infamous 'spoiler space' to Hull for all eternity? The onset of a forum which allows for rich text formatting makes spoiler space look ugly in the extreme.
