Re: CO:York - Countdown in York 2020 - 18th April 2020

With the latest developments coming from the PM and others tonight, I have emailed our venue as to what their stance is. In order to get our money back on the venue, we have to cancel by Wednesday, so expect a decision to be announced in the next 48 hours. Stay safe everyone. https://m.facebook.com/...

Re: CoNuT - Countdown In Newcastle 2020 - Saturday 28th March 2020

What? Have you not heard. Following Boris' general election win, and given that it was the biggest tory victory since Thatcher, Countdown have now decided to go back to Thatcher times and reintroduce the classic 9 rounders to the show, and also ban any words of foreign descent. In all seriousness I ...

Re: CO:York - Countdown in York 2020 - 18th April 2020

I've booked 8 spaces in The Old Grey Mare (https://www.oldgreymare.com) for the full weekend (Fri-Sun). I've messaged those who already made their interest known to me, so there are 4 spaces left. It's a room of 5 and a room of 3. £46 pp. First come first served. (For reference last year's Travelodg...

Re: C4C/apto/Countdown Dreams

She won't be happy with some of this but here goes: So I had a dream last night in which a young Fiona T was applying for a new job (for some reason she looked like the comedian Josie Long but I still knew it was her). The interview involved Fiona being asked a series of random ethical questions whi...

FOCAL Countdown wrote: Sat Oct 12, 2019 12:04 pm And to answer Tim's point, a player's best results from eight events make up their total score for the year.
To clarify, does that mean that your top 8 performances pointswise for THIS year count towards your FOCAL points for the Finals?

Re: FOCAL scoring system

George's report on CO:Liv on the FOCAL site alludes to ...

Re: CO:York - Countdown in York - April 13th 2019

Looking at where to stay for CO:York? There are a few options... I'll be staying at the York Central Travelodge, the cheapest big brand hotel in York, as well as being the closest to our venue, just an 8 minute walk away. There's also a Wetherspoons beneath it for late night drinks and early breakfa...

Re: COLIN XV- Countdown in Lincoln, 19-20 January 2019

Just a heads up guys. Northern Trains are on strike on Saturday, so if you've booked a train between Sheffield and Lincoln for that morning, you may want to look for alternative means of travel (as far as I know East Midlands Trains, who run the only train that stops at Hykeham station itself, is u...
