Re: Pop, pop, pop Master + THE CHAIN

36, 27 and 2/3 today. I don't think I've ever heard of Yvonne Elliman. :(

Re: Pop, pop, pop Master + THE CHAIN

Didn't you notice?...Today's 1st contest was repeating the questions in a style reminicent of Matthew's inelegant efforts at communicating Sooty's whisperings!! So Ken just put the timer on immediately and the bloke lost. Yep, I did wonder about today's guy, especially as he claimed to have scored ...

Re: Pop, pop, pop Master + THE CHAIN

That would solve the problem of having to go er..., um... to cover the noise of you leafing through a book/typing something into the computer. Maybe if the prize was slightly more than a DAB radio... I've only heard a couple of weeks worth, but I'm guessing Ken would slam you down if he thought you ...

Def right Ian, if it goes pre 1980 I'm liable to get lots wrong.

Re: Pop, pop, pop Master + THE CHAIN

Woohoo! 36 (got the 30-20-10 wrong, bah), but then...39!!! First max. Not a massive RW fan but luckily the questions all fell into place. Oh, and loads of MSP songs, though I can't stand them Good one, Bob. When you coming round to fetch your prize? ;) Not quite sure how to answer that one, Sue!

Re: Pop, pop, pop Master + THE CHAIN

Same as you Jim, 36 with the ELO one wrong. 30 on the second set and lots and lots in 10. I used to listen to Carry On Up The Charts all the time!

Re: Pop, pop, pop Master

I don't know how the Chain works, but is it something to do with Gene Hunt in the TV series Life on Mars?

27 and 21 yesterday, and only 2/3 on the 3 in 10. Tough.

Re: Pop, pop, pop Master

Thanks for introducing me to Pop Master, Sue! I've always been a massive music trivia fan so it's right up my street. I caught today's one on catch up. I'm definitely best on the 90s, so was very pleased with the Sheds and Dodgy coming up. Got 33 in round one (got the Bowie one wrong) and 30 in roun...

Re: Spoilers for Thursday 17th September 2009

I got GARROTE in the audience, as I always thought it had three variant spellings. In the OED it's the US spelling though.

Re: Spoilers for Wednesday 16th September 2009

Yep, I'm hoping those conundrum points might just make the difference (hence no GANDISEEG moment sadly - sorry Sue!). Haven't added it up, but pretty sure I'm fifth, behind Jackie but ahead of Paul. Still a long way to go though unfortunately...

Re: Spoilers for Wednesday 16th September 2009

Not able to watch this live and not sure I want to! I still can't believe I went for UNBRAISED when I had two eights - DENARIUS and UNBIASED. Jeff told me at the time he only had a seven. And as for round one...

Very, very gutted but well played Jeff, and I hope you put a good run together.

Re: Spoilers For Tuesday September 15th 2009

I'd started the right method for one away on the third but didn't have time to follow it through. (100-75)*(5+5-1)-6

I wish I hadn't kept picking six small! I thought it would give me an edge in a tight game as I'd practised a lot, but I didn't exactly maximise my points potential on them.

I can tell you why James! For some reason I felt even more nervous at the start of the second day than I did the first. I remember spending the whole of the show thinking "please don't throw up"!

Re: Spoilers For Thursday September 10th 2009

Yes, I'll probably be back on Apterous for the odd game - just needed a bit of a break from it! And Ken, I know - I thrashed my TV self from home today and can't believe I couldn't get at least a 7 in the first round. Still, as we both know, it's much tougher when you're there. I'll see you on Apter...
