Nikki had a bit of an off day but Anne played really well. It looks like she's going to be tough to beat.

Got EMULATES in one of the early rounds where DC found the nine but my performance was average today.

I FINALLY beat Rachel on a numbers game: ((1+1)x100+10)x4-6=834

TAUNTER in round 7, LOUDEST in round 8. 2nd numbers alt: (100-1)x6-(10x2)=574

Not a great show today, some obvious words missed by both players.

Not as good as yesterday from Nikki imo although she would have beaten be today. SOULMATE coming up twice in three rounds was bizarre, although it took me until the last second to spot it the second time.

Also, how on earth did the challenger get the first numbers game wrong?

Congrats Jayne on octochampdom, very well deserved in my opinion. A female octochamp has been long overdue so I'm glad she did it.

My performance was average today. Got GENRAL in round 6, SONATAS in round 7, as well as the conundrum, but somehow missed CABINETS having found CABINS.

Got CHAMOIS in round 11 and LOCALS in round 7 but otherwise I had a poor day, not helped by the poor letters selections.

Both contestants did well today with what was available imo. The numbers games were a bit easy though.

I agree with Tony, not a classic today by any means as the letters selections were poor, although I somehow managed to find three eights.

Good close contest today with both players spotting some good words, especially POMANDER and COURANTE. Jayne had me beaten with those and I think on this form she's got a decent chance of making the finals. It's great to see a female contestant having a good run for a change.
