Half-octochamp? So someone who's won two is a quarteroctochamp? A semidemioctochamp? And today Jeffrey's bidding to become what, a fiveeighthsoctochamp? Re: Bug reports
I was viewing some max games and came across this one . When you hover over the declarations for round 5, the solution shown is incorrect. Yeah the database crashed so I reentered that game by hand, since it was the first max game ever, but I probably made a few mistakes. Oh, okay. Well, I ...

In keeping with the mildly euphemistic ambiance, I'll give it a bash.

Re: Spoilers For Tuesday September 22nd 2009
First numbers round:
75 + 50 = 125
9 × 4 = 36
125 - 36 = 89
89 × 7 =623
623 + 100 = 723
Didn't get it in 30 secs, though.

Ah, I read somewhere that it generated 100-999. Must've got it wrong. Cheers.Innis Carson wrote:I don't think it's possible for 100 to come up as a target, same as on the show.

Could this happen?
In the numbers game, the calculator window doesn't allow you to commit to a value until you've selected an operator (+–×/). But what happens if the target is 100, and 100 is also one of the numbers picked? Technically, you can't solve it with the simplest solution. I know you can enter it in the ini...

Re: Has apterous killed Countdown?
I know I'm a noob but I'd like to chuck my tuppence-worth in, if that's okay. I would describe myself currently as a casual apterite and casual viewer of CD. I can well imagine, however, that the keener apterite / CD buff is likely to focus solely on actual gameplay and apterous's possible effects t...

Hello everyone. Quite amused to discover this forum. My god, that was an appalling first four letters rounds from me Hi, Bob, and welcome. Well done with the first two games. And, jeez!, how far is Jeff going to stretch that lame skuba-diving mickey-take? Let's hope you're not up against a marine b...

Yeah, Dylan Moran is by far my favourite — the man's an utter genius. The presumption I made about his absence from the poll is that nobody else would get any votes, thus rendering it a pointless exercise. But then that's just my opinion.

Re: Frequently Asked Questions - what were yours?
How about reassuring new players that when the occasional crash causes game windows to freeze or close, they need not be overly concerned. The perceived obligation to adopt an air of profound guilt and responsibility for the momentary quiescence (not to mention the resultant cold sweat and profuse a...
