Re: Spoilers for Friday 20 January 2023 - The 16th Championship of Champions Grand Final

... it wasn't Ahmed's best game, he showed he was capable of coming back into it. By the way, in the BRAVURA round, there was quite a gettable 5 - GARBA using the classic GRAB + A stem. Anyway, Ahmed is definitely one of the all-time greats now and I might look at my top 10 list again and update ...

... game ever for me. dod very lucky he studied his GRAB stems. This deserved more. Quite an old joke now, but no-one forgets Chris Maudsley getting GARBA because it's GRAB + A. I'm not sure where any original discussion might be, but I found this and also just searching on c4c finds stuff. Great ...

... judgement... Mauro This shouldn't even have been up for debate. It's clearly allowed by the restaurant rule. Also in round 10 GRAB + A gives GARBA. Only an equaller but it shows the benefits of stemming. Also EMOTICONS as an alternative 9 to ECONOMIST. And JARHEAD equals BREADTH.

... do stemming, I imagine people do try and commit stems to memory if they come up in a game. Like if GRAB is your best word, and you are beaten by GARBA, you might try and remember that GRAB+A=GARBA. So that is stemming of sorts. I'd be interested to know how much people who "just play" ...
