Re: Apterous Masters (formerly COMA) 2010
Qualifying proper result: Josh Overhill 72 - 92 Ian Volante Josh Overhill 65 - 94 Ian Volante Josh was unlucky to not come back for a second conundrum in the first game, I managed to stay out in front in the second. Main draw here I come! As immature as it sounds, I'm still smiling about the conund...

Re: Formula 1 thread
Oh no, I don't believe it at all, but I know a lot of conspiracy theorists do However, out-qualifying someone doesn't count for anything when it comes to race pace, and Villeneuve did outrace him in a couple more races, as well as the ones he outqualified him But to be perfectly honest, I was only 6...

Re: Formula 1 thread
Hill was always the more likely of the two to win, but some (though not me) believe that Williams engineered Villeneuve's problem at the the end of the Australian Grand Prix to allow Hill to win, which gave an 8 point flip. Villeneuve closed in on him in the latter stages of the season, and I think ...

Re: The C4C Football Thread
No way, Liverpool were poor (but I think everyone has got used to that this season), but Man U were just plain shite, never really looked like scoring the whole game, and quite frankly could have had no complaints if Leeds got a second. To lose to a lower league side is bad, but to lose to the dirty...

Re: Formula 1 thread
Williams had the best car in the mid-90's, and even in 1995 when Schumacher won the championship by about 30-odd points, the Williams was probably marginally better, even though Benetton and Williams both had Reanult engines, but Hill made a lot of mistakes, and Schumacher was always on hand to capi...

Re: Xmas=Darts
Indeed, I remember in the year of the inaugral GSOD a BDO tournament clashed with it, and Martin Adams, unlike a number of the top BDO players, played in the BDO tournament. He went out in the quarter-finals, and received less prize money than he would have done at the GSOD for simply turning up. A ...

Having seen possibly one the greatest matches of darts in a while (Hankey v Chisnall) did anyone else think it was a joke that the program finished just as the final set started so they could show some crappy farming documentary which no doubt got a fraction of the ratings the darts did? I know most...

Re: Formula 1 thread
As much as I don't want them to, as I absolutely hate Ferrari, I think they will be back on form this season, and I wouldn't be surprised if Alonso does take the championship. I do think Alonso will destroy Massa, and in a way I hope he does, just to prove they should have kept Raikkonen. I personal...

Re: Formula 1 thread
Button has no chance of retaining his crown, McLaren will build their car to suit Hamilton, and despite being being the champion and having number 1 on his car Button will find himself playing second fiddle throughout the season. I'm also sceptical about Schumacher's chances. I don't think Mercedes ...

Formula 1 thread
Here's hoping there are a number of Formula 1 fans on here! The 2010 season promises to be one of the most eagerly anticipated and exciting seasons in history, with 4 new teams, the return on of Schumacher, Button and Hamilton team-mates at McLaren, Alonso at Ferrari, the refuelling ban etc. What ar...

Re: Sports Personality
Despite being a massive Formula 1 fan, I really hope Button doesn't win. I know it sounds silly, but if Hamilton didnt win it last year (when he should have done), then Button shouldn't win it this year. So I'm going to go for Giggs.

Re: The World Cup
Brazil have to be the favourites, but I personally wouldn't be surprised if Argentina suddenly came good when it matters most. Not saying they'll win it, or make the final, but they cannot be under-estimated at all, and probably will exceed most people's expectations of them, they certainly have the...

I forget which paper it was (probably something shite like the Sun), but when I was in the local off-licence last night i noticed the back page was comparing Liverpool's run to Peterborough's (1 win in 9 games), and Peterborough have just sacked their manager. Made me laugh considering I hate both t...

Re: The C4C Football Thread
Up until about a year ago that was certainly the case with Rooney, but since then he has been scoring goals for England for fun, admittedly mostly against crap opposition. So it will certainly be interesting to see how he fares against the top teams next year. Lampard and Gerrard (usually being forc...
