Seen a few of them live, Matt. Future of the Left's gig the other week gave me unrivalled tinnitus. They were even louder than Mogwai. Future of the Left are just beautiful. Every song's a cracker. Saw them at Reading last year but only caught half the set, and would definite prefer a smaller venue...

Re: Super Cool Funny Jokes

Here's 3 stand-up jokes I wrote and performed yesterday at an open-mic night. Reading a joke and judging in advance whether an audience will find it funny is a tough skill - one i'm not very good at - so why not try your arm and see if you can rank these jokes in ascending order of amount of laughte...

Good thread this one Matthew. I would say there is an increased likelihood of some of the top Apterous people becoming bored of Countdown because they'll: a) whup most contestants most weeks from their armchair b) see coming a mile off the kind of words that the good contestants get However for me, ...

Was looking at a few peoples Daily Duels for yesterday (22nd June 2009) and noticed that we don't get the same selection of letters, which is the whole point right? Seems the conundrums are the same but the standard letter rounds vary. e.g. Kai's duel: http://www.apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=80056...

No bugs report

Apterous has ran almost flawlessly for about 3 months now. The logjams that used to occur where whole waves of people would have to log out and in again and say "oh forget it it's not working today" seem to have gone. Whether I open it in IE, Firefox, or Chrome I get a boringly consistent ...

OK. Guess the score (if you don't already know it!). My guess is the conund is crucial and Kirk gets it to give 102 for Kirk, 83 for Jimmy.

Sure, DC don't get everything and never will. But Susie and Rachel are both fantastic at what they do, and you'd have to trawl the length and width of the planet to find anyone capable of matching them in terms of presentation, ability and all-round brilliance. And even then, you won't succeed. Cel...

Re: Apterous League Championship

Another small problem with the a/b system is that if someone plays a b match, and they know they did really well on it, and don't think that the opponent will do as well, that would be a disincentive to play the a match, which I imagine is the main match which really should happen. Yeah I was think...

I like the idea of more than one league table so that people like me can have a pop at being best of the rubbish people. Yep, the new interface is good. Took me couple of goes to get the general idea, couple more to stop choosing numbers always from the left-hand column, and now I really like it. Something that hasn't been mentioned yet is that it more closely mimics the order in which you give your solution on the TV...

The news page says that the 'stepped' clock is a trade-off for improving "lots of round time issues". I feel it's one of those things where yes, a smooth clock would be better, but if less clock cycles painting the clock is what it takes to improve the nightmarish task of synchronising rea...
