I'm sure there are good reasons for taking a break (of course everyone will be tired!), but it's a shame that it takes a break at one of the only times when I can watch Countdown Going to school means that I can't even catch Countdown on 4+1.

Interestingly enough, the singer for Norway, Alexander Rybak, was born in Belarus. It's a nice song, but a bit melancholy in terms of the lyrics. I prefer Ukraine and Germany, especially the former, what with their "I'm your anti-crisis girl!"- I'm pretty sure that's bordering on Engrish.

Well, out of all the bloc voting (and it wasn't as bad as previous years), Azerbaijan's entire votes were bloc. From 1-12 points, they were all for neighbours and close counties. It has begun! Lithuania is up first, and there's a singalong option if you have the red button. It's great, but Lithuania's song is kind of ridiculous, especially in the chorus- if you love the love that you really love, then surely that love would love would love you back or something!

Since the Government officially changed Countdown's slot in the schedule back to normal after it was placed at an inconvenient time (earlier), I don't think this could end up as good intentions- something may happen! Thanks, Martin and Charlie- that also teaches me to look before I post! In some French sentences, phrases like "bien que" (although) use the subjunctive despite not looking like an obvious sign for it- is this because of impending doubt or uncertainty at the end of the sentence?
