Re: Spoilers for Friday 22nd December 2023 (Series 88 Grand Final)

Great final. Well done, Harry. I think you were a cut above the rest throughout the series and proved it in the final. Viraj was brilliant, and him not only reaching the final but also making a close game of it after having only been on Apto for a year is incredible.

Well played gents.

Re: Spoilers for Tuesday 15th August 2023 (Series 88, Heat 33)

Just caught up on the ep and all this seems very overblown tbh, wouldn't say he played particularly bad and his level only really dropped in the last third of the game where he might have started feeling disheartened. Looks like he made the best out of a bad situation and came across well to me hone...

Re: Spoilers for Monday 16 January 2023 - CoC XVI, QF 3

I mean, we've discussed before the difference between using a word and mentioning it, and I think making something unutterable is more likely to give it power if anything. The word has also been mentioned and quoted by people in this thread seemingly to no-one's offence. Sorry, but that's bollocks....

Re: Spoilers for Monday 16 January 2023 - CoC XVI, QF 3

The slur was the darren, so maybe they couldn’t have reshot it with an alternative 7? Jack's SHITFACE round was a darren, so they definitely do have a solution for it Leaving aside the issue of "where do you draw the line?", all of this suggests they thought it was going to make it to air...

Re: Spoilers for Monday 16 January 2023 - CoC XVI, QF 3

They should just reshoot like they did with Jack's SHITFACE round in the past. Doesn't matter if you yourself don't find a problem with hearing a derogatory terms does it? The whole point of something being labelled derogatory is that it will affect certain members of the demographics in question w...

Cantabile sort of occupies the middle ground going by that post. Nothing to call it a bad con

Re: Spoilers for Tuesday 3 January 2023 - CoC XVI, Prelim 2

Another good game, another bad conundrum. I liked that Dinos said that they're all made up when he buzzed in. 'Bad' as in difficult, bad as in bad or bad for a ro16 match? Can't see what's wrong with cantabile, it's not an irregular letters selection. Still a difficult con though of course I tend t...

Re: Spoilers for Monday 28 November 2022 (Series 86, Heat 116)

It's a pity there aren't more posts about the actual game. Surely this isn't the place to argue about lists etc? Well, it was related to the game and is also a spoiler. But it is true that certain discussions can get kind of lost in spoilers threads. About the game then - Stephen K Amos was an inte...

2 numbers rounds is fine for a 15, but it makes goat a lot less goaty in a 9'er.

Re: Taking Risks/Chances on Wordf

Closely contested game: if they're better than you on letters and they're declaring first, you match them. If they're better than you on numbers, you go 1 large and try to keep it as tight as possible. Trusting yourself on if a word is valid or not is literally just the amount of hours you put in th...
