One of the best games I've seen in a good while, best of the series for sure.

A bit slow in watching so only just seen this. Just wanted to add that this was one of the most thrilling games I've watched in a while - great sportsmanship and a really back and forth game. Made it very exciting.

Happy to also get a max game here. Felt really bad for Susan - she seemed very strong on the letters and if her numbers had been up to scratch she could have had 11 or 12 maxes. One of the more capable contestants of late and I was rooting for her to win.

The only one reservation is that the uptake could well be ridiculously large. If it's open to any and all televised contestants you could well end up at a figure approaching 4,000. They do, actually. Glitter falls from the ceiling and the winner gets a new car, £50000 and a lot of pride. It used to be £100000 but budget cuts reduced this.

I also bought the latest dictionary today. Well, that you can buy. That should help me get better at countdown! It's the 2012 edition. They said in the bookshop that that's the most up to date version that you can buy! I'm hoping that the online version won't be too much different. Although I could...

And if you're the second tallest then who's the tallest? Richard Osman is. It's a little known fact that Richard Osman was on countdown and made the final, losing narrowly to a guy called Harry Peters. However this was never broadcast due to some controversy sadly. The guy on pointless? Yes
