Conclusion: It's impossible to fully account for the different difficulties different players face, and the current system is probably still the best available.

If number of points were used, I think the finals stages would be too predictable. "Twists" like that generated by the current system are what make Countdown finals stages all the more exciting, IMO. I don't think it would make that much difference. If someone loses after five games, they're likely...

Bizarre teatime teaser - I don't really see the connection between rhythm and vowelless. :lol: Yeah, in the cold light of day it looks stupid but when you know the explanation it's always obvious. I know of at least two other people who missed it and that's not including Nick who clearly had no idea.

Tim Vine is a favourite of mine too. It can be quite tiring trying to keep up with all the one-liners and not lose concentration, but then he breaks it up with songs or trying to get a pen behind his ear or something.

The recent champion-swapping is certainly helping out Philip's quarter final prospects. Nearly half the series gone now, and just 3 people ahead of him. :) I was thinking exactly the same. I'm hoping for number 7 seed rather than 8 so he can still potentially meet Zarte in the final. Spoilerificall...
