I think the journalists writing about this are totally missing the point, whether this story has any truth or not. He's just told you that he was trying to get publicity by being a dickhead, and you're giving it to him.

Excellent game throughout. Not sure what the Gevin scoring record is but 128 can't be far off. Pity about those two missed maxes at the end. I don't know if it was a max game up to then but it's always more frustrating if the misses come in the end rounds.

It's quite good trolling if that's what it is. It would mean that the fake kidnap was fake all along, making it a fake fake kidnap, and the real way of making himself famous and getting publicity for his book was the blog post itself.

I think it's quite a interesting suggestion. I don't think the problem is that the contestants are getting what they prefer (Graeme) - it's that quite a high proportion of 1-large rounds especially are complete non-events, and that's just as bad for the show (surely worse in fact) as hard games. It's an obvious flaw of the seeding system that a player with more points from less games (and therefore a clearly superior player) gets seeded lower. Maybe that's one of the reasons why the finals rarely play out in line with the seedings. Wins over points came in as a result of series 37 I think ...

Susie is talking about the strict rules for new words getting into the dictionary. These rules don't apply when a word makes good press of course.

Also if people can't communicate which weekend they mean, then they probably couldn't learn a new word. People can even use the date.
