Re: Channel 4 Catch-Up

But sadly today's episode hasn't been updated thus far and neither is it available on 4OD.
I do wish they would be consistent with the time the programme is uploaded each day.
It is so frustrating to sit there with pen poised after tea and find it is a no brainer.

Letter Frequency

I have often wondered if the same frequency of each letters are available each day and just reshuffled for each game. For example there is only ever one of q, z, j and x but what about the other letters. Today three p's came out in one selection with a fourth p in the next round so are there only ev...

Re: Spoilers for Wed 18th March

I went for (50 + 3) x 6 = 318 + 7 = 325

Lots of different ways of doing it.
Me too, and I matched mentored, roughed and basins but nothing inspirational except barque.

All seemed a bit of an anti climax today but 93 was a very respectful winning score.

Re: Spoilers for March 17th

Thanks for the tip of downloading 4oD. Although it took 72 mins to download and I had to wait until this morning, at least I could watch the second 2 thirds and see Kirk beaming with pride. A pity there are not extenuating circumstances to allow some of Kirk's opponents back to pay against each othe...

Anyway, gutted I couldn't watch the final two thirds of the show, cos of Channel 4's crap web monkeys. I'll save my congrats for after I see the show properly :).
Me neither. What a bum time to lose two thirds of the show on Catch up. Hope someone can alert them to the problem so it can be f...

It wasn't until I watched Catch up that I realised I'd been had! Sitting in the chair was a very strange man who didn't look as if his parents had named him Andrea! Doh!!! How guillible can you get? Shall wait in future to actually watch the game before jumping in with a post. Great game - I only ma...

Re: Spoilers for Monday 16th March

So glad Countdown is back today after the racing.
Look forward to seeing you pit your wits against Kirk in his seventh game.
Only hope C4catchup is loaded quickly after the game so I'm not left in suspense for too long.

It's on Catchup this morning.
They seem to have been a bit slow uploading as previously I have played on Catchup an hour after it was aired.

Well done Kirk on another impressive win.

There's a real buzz on this site this week. Will he or won't he beat the points record for an individual game or for a run of games? Of course some will already be sworn to secrecy and know the answer whilst the rest of us will have to wait until after the b****y racing! Why can't Channel 4 screen C...

Re: Spoilers for Tue 03/03/2009

Well done Kirk. There were some stinky letter combinations today. My only claim to fame is that I spotted NARRATES in round 4 and got 760 25 * (10-4) = 150 + (9-7) = 152 * 5 = 760. I was matching your letter scores until the last 3 rounds which I completely flunked and also did not get the connundru...

Thanks also Phil. I tried to report the problem but the form kept telling me I was doing something wrong and would need to submit. Re: Spoiler for Thurs 26/2/09

got BEMOANS, PAROTIDS and DERANGED.
Also spotted BRASSICA in the ASCRIBES round but in my dictionary it is capitalised so it would have been disallowed unless it has changed.

Another solution for 364.
25+8+3 = 36 times 10 = 360 + 4.

A closely fought and enjoyable game today.

My only personal hi light in todays game was equalling Jeff's UNSTABLE + a couple of other word matches.

Well done Neil - you showed humility in victory and were very gracious towards your opponents, some of whom gave you a 'run for your money.'

I missed both nines in the time.
Was so pleased to spot placates in round 1 until Neil's placentas.
Did spot ovular for a six in the final letters round.

Well done Neil and hard luck to your opponent who was trailing 33 points at one time and must have wondered why she bothered turning up.

I'm gutted.
I thought it was all Susie's own work and that she was a clever girl who swallowed dictionaries.
So do the upstairs crew type the letter combinations into a computer or are they a team of lexi's?

Re: Spoilers for 29/01/2009, CofC semi-final #2

A great game today with the contestants' personalities shining through. I think Steve Briers is just very shy with oodles of humility and didn't want to show off when he won a place in the final. I really don't care who wins. I hope neither contestant freezes with nerves and plays their best. I am s...
