I do a bit each day. Walk out (very quickly) most days and jog/run on the way back, that's with a camera to the local ecology park. Do yoga and some muscle exercises each day, stuff that's off Wii Fit.

Alternative way of getting the same result: multiply up the small numbers to get somewhere near. Eg. 9 x 6 x 5 x 3 = 810, so adding 1 to the 5 adds an extra (9 x 6 x 3, 162) to the total for 972. I'm starting to learn definitions for some of the Scrabble words I'm learning that I consistently mess up.

Learning the definition definitely helps, but doesn't seem to be worth the effort most of the time.

I did write selections down on my first few shows, but realised it was 'unnatural' and I'd be better off just playing like I did anywhere else.

I can anagram perfectly well whatever order the letters are in and prefer seeing the letters in clear tile form anyway.

From Charlie's perspective I think 3/4 large was the way to go. I think if you're really strong all-round at the numbers then 6 small would have been better.

Anyway have still only seen a bit of the final, so will watch all of it before passing more general comments.

It's one of those that's a lot easier to get if you're at home not panicking when the more direct routes don't work.

Didn't see this, I know before I went on the heats I'd decided I'd go for any 9s I was 50/50 about and play safe on anything shorter (the shorter ones were more likely to be confused with Scrabble anyway).

Scrabble letters worth more than 1 point - it's a tiebreaker.

Wouldn't be surprised if they got through all of them (as he says that the challengers come up with N and lose)

Yea, don't think I could have done much more - 3 of the my main errors involved words I'm not familiar with (two 6 letter words and an incredibly unlikely 8). Even not challenging the phoney only cost me about 15 points and I lost that one by plenty.

I've not been paying full attention but it seemed like Debbi's performance dropped off massively on Tuesday and Wednesday from what I saw, bit of a shame really.

Hopefully Debbi will play nearer her best assuming she makes it back for the finals - could be a dangerous lower seed.

Yea, plus judgement spelt without the first e looks really, really crap. I always understood there is only one E in "judgment". Indeed it slightly niggles me when I see it written with 2 Es. One E in general usage is probably an Americanism, the first time I saw it spelt in this aesthetic...

In fairness the best way to take luck out of Scrabble would be to get rid of the 50 point bonus when you play all the letters. It works the same way as the 18 point bonus in Countdown. I did it this way

6 * (9+7) * 10 = 960, 960 - 9 + 1 = 952.


You just know it's there when Carol says she thinks it's probably not doable.
