I was told that on occasions when both contestants have missed a fairly obvious method, or have started right but made a glaring error, that she goes for a "more difficult" route so the contestants aren't kicking themselves even more, although I can recall her saying "you're going to kick yourself" ...

I think people overuse the term 'Hansfording' a bit. What Hansford actually did in his series finals (in which he did in fact try it every time) was buzz in immediately , before he or his opponent could even plausibly have read the letters, and thus deprive his opponent of a fair chance to beat him...

Think most of the current crop are alright, people who know me well will know who are the exceptions, but I feel a lot of the first time guests recently have been pretty poor. But keep the newbies coming, need to find new blood somewhere.
