Re: Dictionary Corner Guests for the new series
I agree that Ran the Man would be a great return guest, he was so dry last time, a welcome change. Giles B - I'm with Charlie on this one, he makes my flesh crawl!! Steven Fry would be my ideal guest but understand he has been asked but is too busy, globetrotting or something. Other than that what a...

Re: Forum Decorum
In response to the generalisation that 'older' people might be most offended - I am 50+ (and female) and don't find swearing as offensive as I used to when younger. Maybe that's something to do with the fact that it is generally more acceptable in everyday life these days. Or is that the problem? My...

Re: Reaction to the final
Thoroughly enjoyed the final, cracking game but Junaid was a worthy winner. Commiserations to Charlie, maybe he was dwelling on the fact that following his Octochamp run he only got two proposals from the female Countdown viewing population? If I was only single...... and 30 years younger!!

Re: Reaction to Carol's farewell programme
I admit to becoming a bit tearful when Carol lost it at the end. Thought it was badly edited with guests appearing and disappearing as if Paul Zenon was in charge! Carol's dress - she seems to have a few of them in different colours and I just wish I looked half as good.

Re: Campaign to get Stephen Fry in DC
He was invited less than a month ago and the answer was no. I expect he's concentrating on QI. Sorry Thanks for trying Lara, and please don't give up, he may say yes one of these days. Other suggestions would be: Alexander Armstrong, let's see how he would do after turning down the job! OR Ka...

Re: Campaign to get Stephen Fry in DC
Thanks for that David. I didn't realise he had been on before, must have been before I started watching on a regular basis. Thought the clip was very funny, clever. Perhaps if he knew people were asking for him to come back on he may consider it. Does anyone (Damian) know if he's been invited lately?

Re: Campaign to get Stephen Fry in DC
Please please please x 25, could we have Stephen Fry in DC. Imagine... he wouldn't even need a dictionary - and Susie could have the day off. :) Bear in mind Sue, people have to WANT to come on the show. Are you suggesting we kidnap him? Yep, that would work! OR Can't see how he wouldn't want to co...

Re: 30 seconds...
WOW! My family think I'm a Countdown freak just because I watch it every day and record it too just in case someone comes to the door or the phone rings and I might miss a few seconds. But you lot are scary!!

Re: Rachel Riley Unveiled.
Here's to a new era. We have to give them time to settle in though. It must be quite daunting for them both. Jeff who? Is it cos I is not a sporting person, but never heard of him!

I too look forward to seeing this before the final, got to finish on a positive note or too many people will be out there contemplating something drastic!

Re: Suzie
Just to say she does a great job, especially putting up with some of the creepy partners she has in DC. (Giles [sic] Brandreth anybody?) Whenever Brandreth is on I always want to yell at the TV, "Stop invading her personal space!" He'll make some asinine remark that he thinks is funny, sm...

Re: Suzie
As far as I'm concerned Damian was the best ever DC person. He's got such a great personality and showed a bit of irreverence, not seeming to take it toooo seriously.

Suzie
How come I dont see any postings about Suzie? Is she not considered fair game as Carol and Des are? Just to say she does a great job, especially putting up with some of the creepy partners she has in DC. (Giles Brandreth anybody?)

Hi y'all. I'm Sue Sheldon and not only am I a Newbie on this site I am a chat room (is that the right terminology) virgin. You're very welcome. Since you ask, this is a message board rather than a chat room (they tend to be more instantaneous.) So much so I posted a comment about Ran the Man before...

Re: Sir Ranulph Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes
I think he has been a refreshing change from the usual celebrity guests. He has a wonderful dry sense of humour.
