Follies was not allowed and yet it is in 2 of my Oxford English dictionaries including the full of The Oxford English Dictionary which definitive.

Hello,
My wife and I watch every show and they add structure to our day, being the time we have a tea-break in the afternoon. When Countdown isn't on we flounder. We hope the alterations coming are not too great as it is, or was, just about perfect.

Why is Susie so difficult to understand? We understand carol's every word even if she does pronounce some oddly, but Susie's acccent is so plummy in a schoolgirlish way that we could do with subtitles. Also as she is supposed to be 'good' with words, how about banning the comment "Fantastic&quo...

Dictionary - or what?
It's about time that there was a new dictionary. When used recently with the 'wordcamera' (one word or two?) I saw above and below the word being shown, the 'words' Ann Boleyn and Ann Of Cleeves! What kind of dictionary has names in it? Perhaps contestants might stand a better chance if a better one...
