For me, John Sergeant is among the worst - He didnt have a clue what was going on.

My favourite DC guest of all time is Ricahrd Stilgoe - a brilliant wit!
I know he is controversial but I did like Gyles Brandreth and would like to see him more often.
Of the current guests I like Phil Hammond the most. I usually fast forward through the others.

Pe-ortsmuff!! (that's Portsmouth to you non-pomponians!) Make that Pompey x 2 - I Have always live in the Portsmouth district and used to watch them when I was younger. 5 vowels is good. The objective is to beat your opponent, not to get the longest word possible. Good shout. Good luck for tomorrow.

Re: New Host
Maths Le Tissier? To sum up, and without wishing to take away anything from Maths Le Tissier, I think his appointment might divide opinion. However, his selection would certainly add interest, and could easily multiply the number of football fans tuning in. And he would be handy if it goes to a pen...

I'm not really a football fan nowadays - I got over that about 20 odd years ago before the money men took over. I couldn't even be arsed to watch the frst Cup Final Pompey have reached (and won) in my lifteime! However, I did record it and watched it later after I knew the result. However, Jeff Stel...

What a roller-coaster!
I also missed the 9 but managed to get the last numbers and the Conundrum by about half a second to get up on the line. Phew!
He continues to be extremely impressive under pressure.

Re: Today on Countdown
No one has mentioned that Kai is a very unusual boy's name in the UK.
The only one I have ever heard of before is Kai (or Kay) in the Hans Kristian Andersen tale and the 2002 film version.
p.s. I played a woodpigeon in a 1964 junior school production of it
Anyone know of any others?
Al

New Host
I read in The Saturday Mail that Alexander Armstrong is now favourite to replace Des as the new host as a result of Rory Bremner and Michael Palin turning down offers of the job. He was in my list as a DC guest so he certainly gets an endorsement from me. He was very good on 'Have I Got News For You...

I just watched a recording of this show on my return from a week working away in Brussels. Well done Junaid - His word play was good but strength is clearly on numbers and speed of the conundrum - With his confidence up he is obviously Octochamp potential. I managed to get tensions, coteries, intrig...

Looks like I struck a raw nerve there!
I must admit that the sketch where they took off the Dragons Den last week made me and my son cry with laughter, following on from Paul Whitehouse having a go at each of the football team in their own language.

Hi - This is my first post
I managed to get serenade in the first round and managed to get the conundrum on sight.
Well done Debbi - a very good contestant. I can understand that she probably got tired towards the end of the day as the recording is very intense and mentally draining.
Allan.
