Re: Do you still watch Countdown?

I went years watching religiously but have become very bored of it over the past year or so and have watched less and less, at the moment I haven't seen an episode since the S64 final. Can't say I particularly miss watching the show either. :o Will probably watch Jeff's finals, but I doubt I'll both...

Re: Friday 3 July 1998 (Prelim 5, Series 39)

DC cock up as well, as they offer the American spelling. The English spelling is demagogues.
Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Countdown allowed American spellings until the early 2000s.

According to the folks at Bother's Bar who've been to recordings , DoND is expected to extend to an even more drawn out 60-minute slot daily in 2011, which could mean that Countdown is rescheduled either earlier or later depending on how it's arranged. If it happens, it will be interesting to see w...

By the way, if anyone doing older recaps (applicable to Series 20 - 30) doesn't have a physical COD8 to check the OT's with, there's a PDF version here. Fairly sure this was posted a long while back but thought I'd refresh your memory.

Des Lynam was a very good host and I think he is quite underrated just because he didn't wear loud ties or talk about his career all the time. I too grew to like him, he had a very dry and witty sense of humour and didn't try and take over the programme. Was infinitely better than Des O'Connor for me.

I too think that Richard Digance is one of the better DC guests. I wasn't that fond of him when he was regularly on multiple times a series, but the long break and this week's performances have won me over. He's been quite funny and seems to have a pretty good rapport building with Jeff.
