Mobile numbers in Ireland are usually xxx xxx xxxx. Although I think my one is easiest if you do xxx xx xx xxx. Basically every mobile number starts 08x with that x determined by your provider. So like all Vodafone numbers start 087 so you'd say 087 xxx xxxx. Wouldn't make sense to say 087x xxx xxx....

I've always understood it as a response to where babies come from questions without necessarily being prompted by witnessing actual copulation and the bees pollinating flowers is supposed to be an easy to understand explanation of fertilisation with an observable example.
